Kevin Mack is a Democratic candidate for District 15 of the Maryland House of Delegates. A native of Montgomery County, Maryland, Kevin graduated from Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda and went on to receive a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA and a Master's Degree in Political Management from The George Washington University.
After graduation from UCLA, he worked in the entertainment industry for DreamWorks SKG, selling and distributing filmed product to international markets. He then worked for Centropolis and Electric Entertainments in finance and administration. He also owned and operated two small landscape businesses, Lush Landscapes and An Edible Garden. Lush Landscapes focused on high-end residential maintenance, while An Edible Garden designed, planted, maintained, and harvested organic kitchen gardens for residential customers.
Since returning home to Maryland in 2010, Kevin has worked for the Sixth Congressional District as a volunteer and now as head of Congressman John Delaney’s district staff. This role has allowed him to combine his knowledge and skills from the private and public sectors to work with and advocate for the constituents of the Sixth Congressional District by helping them cut through red tape and secure benefits as well as giving them a voice at the federal level.
Kevin is currently celebrating over 12 years of sobriety. This milestone would not be possible if it were not for the support of family and friends and the availability of treatment programs. That is one of the primary reasons Kevin is running for office—to ensure that all citizens receive the same support and care as he did in his darkest times.
Kevin is a volunteer for Student Emerging Leaders Program, a mentoring program for high school sophomores to develop leadership and professional skills. He is actively involved in the local Democratic Party, serving as a precinct chair and member of a number of local civic associations. He enjoys hiking, biking, movies, travel, and skydiving.
